Hornbeam makes cast iron skillets in Britain. In October I filmed a day of cooking in them, indoors and out, following every dish from the raw ingredients to the finished plate.
That one shoot became an apple tart reel, three recipe reels (pork, mac and cheese, rosemary apples) and a 40 second highlight film. Every piece was cut in vertical and landscape, graded in my house look and finished with sound design, and 427 stock clips went into their library.
How the reels are built
Each reel opens on the finished dish, then shows how it got there, and ends on the Hornbeam logo. Overhead shots are turned to fill the vertical frame instead of being cropped.
