Brand films for Isle of Wight food and drink producers

Brand films · Isle of Wight food and drink

I’m Reuben Mowle, and I make brand films for food and drink producers on the Isle of Wight: drinks brands, growers, makers and the people behind them. A brand film shows who you are, what you make and where it comes from, in a short film you can use on your website, social media, ads and screens. Filming costs £90 per hour, or £100 per hour with a dedicated photographer alongside.

Island producers have a story most brands do not: the Isle of Wight itself. Part of my mission as a filmmaker living here is showing off the island’s beauty, and the craft behind what you make, so people remember where it comes from.

What a brand film can include

  • A short hero film for your website and launches, like the 30-second film I made for Wight Whiskey
  • Shorter versions for social media and ads
  • Photography from the same shoot, so your film and stills match
  • Announcement films for big moments, like the B Corp campaign I filmed for Isle of Wight Tomatoes
  • Collaboration content with other island businesses, like the shoot with Vlaze, Big Green Egg and Robert Thompson
  • Island scenery from Isle of Wight Stock, licensed at exclusive rates and cut into your edit

What you get

  • Creative direction, a written treatment and a shot list before the shoot
  • All the equipment, owned by the company, with lighting and professional audio where needed
  • A colour-graded film, ready to use
  • Versions prepared for web, social media and ads
  • An unlimited royalty-free licence: use it anywhere, forever
  • Music licensing included on hybrid shoots

Recent work: Wight Whiskey

Lucy at Wight Whiskey emailed to ask if we could make a brand video together. We met at Cafe Isola and planned a 30-second film, with photography alongside. Lucy pulled together a shot list, I added creative input, and we got very lucky with the conditions on the night.

The film went down a storm on social media and was shown on the Wightlink ferries. It has also brought in a lot of business from people who saw it and got in touch. We still work together, and I supply images for their packaging through Isle of Wight Stock. Read the Wight Whiskey story.

A plate of food with a variety of dishes, from the Vlaze and Big Green Egg shoot

More from island makers: a cinematic fireplace film for Charnwood that went on to get millions of views, and a food and fire shoot that brought together Vlaze, Big Green Egg and Robert Thompson to show off the island’s cooking and its manufacturing skill.

“Brilliant, refreshing and super creative. Very easy to work with and has a unique gift in turning even the most standard subjects (like a chimney flue) into something spectacular. Would have no hesitation in recommending.”

Prices

  • £90 per hour: me on my own, filming and photographing
  • £100 per hour: hybrid shooting, with a dedicated photographer alongside me
  • Retainer: regular shoots at rates that come down considerably. Build an estimate with the retainer calculator.

Most brand films are quoted as a project, worked out from these hourly rates. See all services and prices.

How it works

  1. Tell me about your brand and your product using the Start a project form.
  2. We have a short discovery call, then I write a treatment and shot list.
  3. We agree the budget and timeline in writing.
  4. We shoot, on location around the island if the story needs it.
  5. I edit and colour grade the film, and deliver it usually within 2 to 3 weeks.

Questions

How long should a brand film be?

It depends on where it will be seen. The Wight Whiskey brand film is 30 seconds, made with a set of photographs from the same shoot, and it has been shared on social media and shown on the Wightlink ferries. We agree the length together in the written plan.

How much does a brand film cost?

Filming is £90 per hour, or £100 per hour for hybrid photo and video. I quote each brand film as a project, worked out from those rates. If you plan to film regularly, a retainer brings the rate down considerably.

Can you include Isle of Wight scenery?

Yes. We can shoot on location, and I can also add footage from Isle of Wight Stock, a library of thousands of island photos and videos, at exclusive rates.

Can we get photos from the same shoot?

Yes. I shoot photo and video, and on a hybrid shoot a dedicated photographer joins me so you get full coverage of both. See food and drink photography.

Do we need a script or shot list?

No. I write the treatment and shot list with you. If you already have ideas, bring them: for Wight Whiskey, Lucy had a shot list and I added creative input on top.

Where can we use the film?

Anywhere, forever. Every shoot comes with an unlimited royalty-free licence, and I prepare versions for your website, social media and ads.
