Food and drink photographer on the Isle of Wight

Food and drink photography · Isle of Wight

I’m Reuben Mowle, a food and drink photographer based on the Isle of Wight. I photograph dishes, drinks, kitchens and the people behind them for restaurants, cafés, bars, hotels and food and drink producers. Shoots cost £90 per hour, or £100 per hour when a dedicated photographer joins me for full photo and video coverage.

Since 2024 I have worked only with food, drink, hospitality and lifestyle brands. That focus shapes everything: how I plan a shoot, the kit I bring, and how I edit and deliver the images so they work on your menu, your website and your social media.

What I photograph

  • Menus and individual dishes, lit and framed to show them at their best
  • Drinks and cocktails, at the bar or out in the landscape
  • Chefs and teams at work in the kitchen
  • Your room, your setting and your guests enjoying it
  • Food and drink producers, their products and the people who make them

You can see more of my food and lifestyle photography in the gallery.

Recent work: Wight Whiskey

Lucy at Wight Whiskey asked for a 30-second brand film with photography to go with it. She brought a shot list, I added creative ideas, and we got very lucky with the conditions on the night. The film went down a storm on social media and was shown on the Wightlink ferries, and I still supply images for Wight Whiskey’s packaging through Isle of Wight Stock.

Read the Wight Whiskey story, or see the food and fire shoot I brought together with Vlaze, Big Green Egg and chef Robert Thompson.

“We worked with Reuben for professional business shots and a video business card for our catering company. He brought his own equipment, set up and worked seamlessly alongside me in the kitchen and with the guests we invited. The outcome was brilliant and exactly what we needed. We will continue to use Reuben for any photo or videography in future.”

Prices

Food and drink photography uses the same hourly rates as all my work:

  • £90 per hour: me on my own, shooting photo, video or both
  • £100 per hour: hybrid shooting, with a dedicated photographer alongside me
  • Retainer: regular shoots at rates that come down considerably. Build an estimate with the retainer calculator.

If you would like a fixed quote for a project, I will work it out from these rates. See all services and prices.

How it works

  1. Tell me about your menu, venue or product using the Start a project form.
  2. We have a short discovery call, then I send a written plan and shot list.
  3. We agree the budget and the date in writing.
  4. I shoot, edit and colour grade the images.
  5. You receive the finished photos within 2 to 3 weeks, or sooner on express.

Questions

How much does a food photographer cost on the Isle of Wight?

I charge £90 per hour, or £100 per hour for hybrid photo and video with a dedicated photographer. Regular clients on a retainer pay considerably less. Tell me what you need and I will quote from these rates.

How quickly will I get my photos?

Most shoots are delivered within 2 to 3 weeks. Express turnarounds of 24 to 72 hours are available for campaigns where speed matters.

Can I use the photos anywhere?

Yes. Every shoot comes with an unlimited royalty-free licence, so you can use the photos on your website, menus, social media and ads, forever.

Do you bring your own lighting and equipment?

Yes. All the equipment is owned by the company, so there are no hidden charges or surprise fees for kit. Lighting is set up wherever the shoot needs it.

Can you film video on the same shoot?

Yes. I shoot photo and video, and on a hybrid shoot a dedicated photographer joins me so both get full attention. See restaurant and hospitality video for the kind of films I make.

Do you work outside the Isle of Wight?

Yes. I am based on the island and available for work further afield.
